Description
Romantic tops, wide pants and pyjama style blouses, feminine spaghetti strap dresses and long satin skirts – the lingerie look is so trendy right now!
Satin fabrics, which originally belonged to the lingerie or evening wear category, have found their way from the bedroom into everyday wardrobe over the last few years.
The Katie Skirt is a flared midi-length skirt, developed in collaboration with HemmersItex. Hemmers Itex is a wholesale fabric company, working closely with several sewing influences to provide patterns and sewing ideas.
The special thing about this model: The skirt is cut with a bias cut, i.e., at a 45° angle to the selvedge.
An elastic band at the waist ensures a comfortable fit. The elastic band is sewn onto the upper edge of the waistband using a new technique, which will be shown in the Filmed Tutorial
The skirt is sewn quickly and easily using French seams.
Another benefit, you won’t need an overlock machine, the entire skirt can be sewn using your sewing machine.
By the way: Garments cut on the bias are really something wonderful! They are characterised by a special fall and hug the body shapes fantastically. And the most brilliant thing is they adapt to the body’s weight changes.
The Satin is medium in weight and falls perfectly around the body.
The fabric has the most wonderful sheen, making it a fab evening outfit, or worn with a chunky jumper and winter boots.
We recommend using sharp fine pins, this fabric can snag easily with blunt pins or needles.
