Dead-stock fabric is unused, leftover fabric from the fashion industry. This excess material arises from various stages of production, like leftover fabric after garment creation or materials not used due to overproduction. These high-quality, unique fabrics would usually be discarded, but using dead-stock offers a sustainable and ethical alternative, reducing waste and allowing creation with unique materials.

Sewing a Top from viscose fabric can be a popular choice for several reasons. Viscose, also known as rayon, is a semi-synthetic fabric made from wood pulp. A sustainable choice.
Viscose is perfect for dressmaking because it’s soft, breathable, and drapes well, offering comfort and elegance. Its versatility allows for various styles. Additionally, it’s easy to sew, making it a practical choice for creating stylish Tops and dresses.
It’s also an Eco-friendly option, produced from sustainably sourced wood pulp, making it a more environmentally friendly choice compared to certain synthetic fabrics.
Viscose is generally easy to sew, a good option for both beginners and experienced sewers. It behaves well under a sewing machine and is less prone to fraying compared to some other fabrics.
We recommend using sharp fine pins, this fabric can snag easily with blunt pins or needles.
